Details on the Death Grip DVD/Blu-Ray Release (Updated!)

by kmiller

I’ve been excited to see Death Grip ever since the logo was released online. Since then, I’ve seen the movie change names and overcome numerous obstacles. Now, finally, the DVD and Blu-Ray release of the film has been announced! The Stunt People are looking to have the movies ready to sell on June 30th, at the premiere for the film.

In the meantime, check out the sleeves for both the DVD and Blu-Ray!

Just so you guys know, the Blu-Ray will have fewer overall features while the video will be in full HD. The DVD will have more bonus features, but at the expense of the quality of the feature film. In other words, pick your copy carefully.

Eric has teased that more news will be trickling down the pipeline as the end of the month nears, so be sure to check out his site to get the latest news.

If for some reason you still haven’t seen the trailer yet, here it is as well.

I’m planning on doing a review as soon as I get a copy, and I’m pumped for it already!

If you want to grab a copy for yourself, click the link here to purchase Death Grip! (Death Grip isn’t there yet, but there will be a placeholder for it later today)

UPDATE!!!!!

Here is a knife fight from the film. Trust, me it looks amazing!

    WTF!?
    bluray having less feature!?

you see this is what pisses me off about buying movies, and reason why people pirate instead.

Bluray is obviously the better version to have so why would it have less feature!?
Dvd WILL soon become obslete and pulling a move like this isn’t helping.
It’s like they want to make sales on dvd too.

what is Eric Jacobus’s decision or the distribution? because I seriously don’t like this damn move.

Yes more people own dvd but you don’t limit the people who will pay £14 for the bluray to have less feature but movie in HD.

they better come up with a director’s cut or limited edition that includes all items on dvd to the bluray!

I figure I’d just clarify here. We unfortunately cannot print dual layer blu ray discs with the printing company. The tech is still new and they only offer single layer, which means only two hours of high quality video. We wanted to do a dual layer blu ray disc, which I had originally planned to do so the DVD and BD would have the same content. Sadly we can’t. It’s not an attempt to screw customers. Past customers know I’m a special features junkie when it comes to the DVDs we release, so it pains me to.

dual layer means more storage space?

Yeah, dual layer would mean that the blu ray would be able to hold double the capacity of a single layer disc. Most retail blu-rays are dual layer, but they require a special burner and program.
