Trailers for Angels and Once Upon a Time in Shanghai

by kmiller

Okay, it looks like I made a mistake. The Once Upon a Time in Shanghai that stars Phillip Ng and Sammo Hung and is being produced by Wong Jing is not the same one as the one that stars Chow Yun Fat and Sammo Hung which is directed by Wong Jing. Get that? Yeah, me neither. However, there is a teaser trailer for Phillip Ng’s Once Upon a Time in Shanghai.

Once Upon a Time in Shanghai

While this doesn’t really show any footage, I like the old-school feel it gives off. It lets you know what Yuen Woo Ping will be choreographing the action while letting Ng’s action’s speak for themselves. I’m excited to see where this project goes.

Next up is a trailer for a movie called Angels. It stars Dustin  Nguyen and I gotta say, the trailer looks pretty slick.

Angels Trailer

I know Dustin from being in the Rebel, and I thought he was an awesome villain. However, I didn’t realize how English-heavy this film was going to be. It will be directed by Wych Kaosayananda and has a number of action veterans listed, including Gary Daniels.

No release has been announced yet, but Angels should be coming out later this year.

Once Upon A Time in Shagia looks like a SICK movie!
Philip Nig looks cool, I’ll remember his name:)
I instantly knew Yuen Woo Ping might be the choreographer in this movie or director, because a lot of the moves Nig pulled off I recognised from Fist of Legend.

the Angels movie looks more like a drama man:/
wonder why they are speaking english, probably aimming the movie to the West who likes Action movies.
reminds me of an action movie like this that they spoke both english and chinese, I can’t remember the name of the movie now. It’s not Viral Factor, it’s another.
I think it has House of Fury’s Anothy Wong or it might be Simon Yam.

yo thanks for this news and update man

OUATIS looks sick. That trailer is like Shaw Brothers crossed with “Ong Bak”! Hong Kong has really been falling behind in making decent martial arts films for years now! Donnie Yen can’t do this all by himself! I really have high hopes for OUATIS and this could get Hong Kong back in the game! I put it alongside “The Man With the Iron Fists” and “Man of Tai Chi” as one of my most anticipated martial arts flicks right now! Hope to hear about the release date soon!
