I’ll be honest, I was one of the those people wondering why Jackie moved Chinese Zodiac from his 100th film spot. We now have an explanation. (more…)
So, this one’s kinda weird to talk about, but news nonetheless. Jackie apparently had a sex scene (or “passion” scene) with Li Bingbing. The characters they play, a revolutionary couple, have several intimate scenes in the film, all of which were ultimately cut.
Li Bingbing talked about working with Jackie on the passionate scenes.
“When I shot the emotional scenes with Jackie Chan, he was very shy, nervous and tense, however we forgot about ourselves and performed.”
It’s really rare for Jackie to do any sex scenes in his films. If I recall correctly, he’s only done 2 in his entire career. While I think that Jackie is evolving as an actor, I wonder why he’s changing some of his old “rules” as he makes films. It’s too bad that we don’t know why the scenes were cut. Maybe they will be in an extended version of the film.
Also, Jackie talked about working with his son and why he avoided it for so long:
“After THE KARATE KID, I saw Will Smith helping his son without any reservation. French director was the same way. I instead asked why I would be so traditional and avoided it?”
It’s good to see Jackie opening up. I’m not sure if this means more films with them together, but I’m sure it won’t hurt the relationship between them.
Anyways, I’m more curious about this movie now, so I guess that’s a good thing.
Special thanks to HKtopten for the original article.
We finally get a Chinese trailer for 1911, and it shows some different things from what we’ve seen before.

Jackie Chan’s next, and 100th, film is a patriotic film that covers when the Quing Dynasty was overthrown and the republic of China came into play. To be honest, I’m not that hyped for this movie. (more…)
