Hopefully you saw these links on my facebook page, but in case you didn’t, I’m going to re-post these on a proper page. 2 shorts were released over the weekend, each of them with their own merit as to why you must see them.
We’ll start off with Yellow Zone, an amazing homage to 80′s classic HK-style action. It features Andy Long Nguyen, Can Aydin, and Khoi Chau. Everything some the soundtrack and subtitles to the choreography and outtakes screams old school. Be sure to check it out!
Next up is a short that makes a name for itself in a completely different manner. LBP Stunts Chicago has released Dogfight. As the title suggests, Dogfight is an intense battle that never lets up, not even for a second.
The short was created by Shawn Bernal, Nate Hitpas, Jessie Bayani, and Emmanuel Manzanares. If you want to see what some of the best modern-day choreography, you need to watch this video.
These two shorts prove exactly why I love the up and coming talent in the industry. There are several talented people out there just looking to make their mark, and it proves you don’t need a big budget to make it happen. Both of these projects were labors of love, and lots of hours were spent on getting the exact feel right.
Congrats to everyone who worked so hard to perfect these videos, they are both amazing in their own right. Keep it up!
Reel Deal is a European group of talented martial artists and filmmakers who share the universal goal of creating safe, creative, and unique action sequences. Each member has their own set of skills and talents that they bring to the group, letting the group be diverse as well as creative. Here is one of their earlier videos, called a Short Story of Marriage:
The core members of the group are Can Aydin, Cha Lee-Yoon, Mike Moeller, Phong Giang, and Tanay Genco Ulgen. Check out everyone training in this little video they put together.
Be sure to follow the page for the most up-to-date information from the team. You can learn more about each individual member and what project they have worked on. I could share more, but I don’t want to take away from their awesome site.
I expect some awesome things to come from them. Good luck guys!
Next up is the Indie crowd. There have been a lot of project, and I wanted to spotlight them so you could see everybody’s hard work.
First up is Relic Hunt, a film starring Edward Kahana, Alvin Hsing, Bryan Cartago, and Lucas Okuma. Here is the synopsis for the film:
Treasure hunter Trey Arcqeo is tasked by the Oxford Museum to recover the ancient Plates of Siddhartha and finds himself in the remote hills of an abandoned mining community. However, he is not alone.
What’s that? A trailer? Of course there’s a trailer!
Relic Hunt already looks awesome and I’ve only seen 57 seconds of it. Everybody that is working on the film is super talented, and I know the end product will meet (if not exceed) our expectations.
Next on the list is a short film called Impulse. It was choreographed and directed by Tolga Degirmen and Hannes Pastor. There isn’t really much for me to say except that it’s a pretty good video and a lot of talented people worked on it.
Lastly, we have some awesome goodness from LBP Stunts. I posted these on the facebook page yesterday, but in case you guys missed it, I’ll post it here for you as well.
I just want to say awesome job to everyone that is working hard to create quality fight sequences for us to enjoy. We appreciate it and cant’ wait to see what’s next! Awesome job guys!
