One of my favorite things about having this site is the fact that I come across some great projects that readers are working on. Today’s post is dedicated to you guys, the fans that share the same passion I do. For everyone else, I hope you find something new that you like and want to support!
I’m going to kick off the post with something that Brad Curran brought to my attention. The Turtle and the Sea is a project that is being made by Shifu Yan Lei. It is a independent film that is in the works, but it needs support in order to be completed. I’ll let the video explain the circumstances:
I wish I would have seen this earlier, as the project looks very interesting and seems to be for a good cause. Feel free to donate or pre-order the DVD by clicking this link!
Next in line is a teaser that DL MacDonald showed me later that day. It’s a teaser for a film that he will be releasing next year called Hallowed, and it looks awesome!
I love the choreography and the intense falls in the teaser. I’ll be sure to let you know when this one is released!
Following this is an Ultimate Fan Fight between Tifa and Chun Li. Pretty self-explanatory, but I thought it was pretty well done and deserved to be spotlighted as well. Props to everyone who worked to make it look good. Be sure to pick who you think won the battle!
Also, I want to inform you guys that Clandestine, the “little” project by Thousand Pounds, is almost done filming. Here is one image that has been provided so far.
I’m anxious to see what happens with this project, and there are sure to be more images and videos popping up soon.
Lastly, I want to bring your attention to a project that you may or may not be aware of. Mario Warfare seamless blends a number of different genres together. For some, it’s a cool homage to a classic video game. For others, it’s a great martial-arts action short. Plus, it’s a lot of fun to watch.
Still don’t beleive me? Check out the first episode of Mario Warfare right now!
Like what you see? Personally, I love the Gun-Kata that Toad uses. Well, it takes time and effort to deliver that caliber of material to an audience. That’s why the guys behind the project, Beat Down Boogie are looking for your support to complete the webseries. There a ton of talented people that you haven’t even seen yet, and I’m sure that the best is yet to come. Don’ believe me? Hear it for yourself!
So, there you have it. Did you get your fix for the day? What are you the most interested in? Feel free to comment or post on my Facebook wall if you need me to spotlight your work as well. I’d love to do it.
The Kickstarter for Clandestine is coming to an end, and they are still pretty shy of their goal. I wanted to take some time to catch you guys up on some of the things that have been announced for the project.
I’m hoping you’re aware of Clandtesine, but if you aren’t, it’s basically a very ambitious web series that is being created by Thousand Pounds. It’s got a very promising story and a strong cast, with some new additions that have been announced. The cast includes Amy Johnston, Brendon Huor, Reuben Langdon, Gui DaSilva, Mickey Facchinello, Vonzell Carter, and Mark Musashi.
There are a number of clans that will be present in Clandestine, and a teaser for the Eagle clan has just been released. Give it a look to see the potential of the Eagle Clan:
I’m really excited for Clandestine, and I really hope this project sees the light of day. I can’t post every update, but be sure to look at their Facebook page or Youtube page for even more videos, like Q & A sessions with the cast. You can also visit their official website here.
If you haven’t donated yet, there is still time. Be sure to support these guys as they strive to become one of the best martial arts teams in the industry!
A lot of cool news for the week, I have no idea why this video is so short. Feel free to let me know how you feel about any of the news I cover, like Iko joining Man of Tai Chi.
Things are FINALLY getting back to normal for me, which means I can tag everything like I used to. Be sure to donate to Clandestine, they will appreciate it!
As a special thanks for putting up with me these past few weeks, here are the 2 videos I mentioned in my vlog in case you didn’t see them on my Facebook wall:
You’ve heard of Thousand Pounds Action Company and seen what they are capable of. Whether it was through Naruto or Street Fighter X Tekken, it’s apparent that there is a lot of talent on the team. It’s only natural that when people of this caliber work together, new projects are born.
Enter Clandestine:
“When was the last time you saw a martial arts film that left you panting? We’re talking about gritty, blood and sweat, bone crunching epics where you feel the pain, wince at every blow, root for characters in every fight. We’re talking about fight films where the storyline does as much as the action in keeping you on the edge of your seat.”
“”With your help, we’ll deliver the next one. We’ll make filmmaking history. We’ll bring back the martial arts epic with Clandestine.”
Clandestine is a webseries that will utilize some of the biggest talents in the industry right now. Amy Johnston and Brendon Huor will be playing key characters while Vladislav Rimburg will be working on the choreography. Just the announcement of these three individuals is enough to get most action fans excited. Chris Cowan and Haile Lee are the ones that are seeing the project through, and they are equally as talented behind the lens.

Given how ambitious Clandestine is, the team isn’t able to do it alone. They have created a kickstarter campaign in order to raise $75,000. While this may seem like a large sum, if every one of their viewers donated a dollar, the goal could be met in a matter of days. One of the greatest benefits to supporting upcoming talent is the fact that they have the same passion that the fans do. As a martial arts fan myself, I can tell you that your money will be put to good use.
There are a number of perks for those that donate, and any amount will be greatly appreciated. You should also check out the official page, as there is a great synopsis of the story and it will be updated with new details and images as the weeks go on. If you love great action sequences or have been a fan of Thousand Pounds, now is the time to show your support and help the team see this vision through!
