3D Iceman Cometh Begins Filming
Although the 3D Iceman Cometh had a very rough beginning period, it seems like it has not been cancelled as initially thought. Donnie Yen will be playing the lead and will also be choreographing the action for the film. Other stars include Simon Yam, Eva Huang, and Wang Baoquiang.
The film is a remake of the 1989 film that starred Yuen Wah and Yuen Biao, except it will have more effects and larger-scale fights. While I welcome the fights, I’m curious how the 3D will work with the film. There haven’t really been any good 3D martial arts films, so I worry that it will be a waste of money.
I actually haven’t seen the original, but that’s going to change soon because I just got the film in the mail and hope to review it this week. For now, I’m curious how Yen will play the role and will keep you posted as I learn more.
Hope you guys enjoy this week’s video. Don’t get too hostile with the Jackie discussion, it was just for a conversation starter.

Sorcerer and the White Snake came out back in September of last year, and it’s finally seeing a stateside release next year. Magnet is making the transition happen, and it will be released on VOD on January 3rd before having a limited theatrical release on February 8th.
I’m not too sure when the DVD will be released, but it shouldn’t be too far after that.

Now, I did a review for this movie way back when, and I still think this movie is marketed wrong. Yes, it has action and fighting in it, but it’s a love story at its core. I know it’s not the target audience, but please be aware of that in case you are thinking you’ll see Jet fight for the whole film. In fact, this music video is much more accurate of what you are going to get:

That being said, I really enjoyed the movie and wouldn’t mind adding it to my collection when it is released. To be honest, I’d probably even see it in theaters just cause. It’s got a good story with pretty well-written characters. What about you guys? Have you seen it or are looking forward to it? Feel free to comment!
