Gina Carano Set to Do Another Film

by kmiller

Continuing with the Valentine’s Day spirit, it seems as if Gina Carano will be getting more work in the action film industry. She will be starring in a film titled In the Blood, which will be directed by John Stockwell. In the film, she will play a wife who is on a mission to find her husband who has disappeared while they were vacationing in the Caribbean.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but was there anyone that actually liked Haywire? I’m not going to sugar-coat it at all; I did not like Haywire one bit. In fact, it’s the first movie I’ve walked out of in the theater. I’m serious, I literally did not stay til the end. Maybe it got a lot better after I left, I don’t know. What I do know is that the acting was pretty bad and the fights were not at all what I expected.

This new movie doesn’t seem to bring anything new to the table either, as it sounds simply like the reverse version of Taken. Now, I’m never going to criticize a film until I see it for myself, and In the Blood could change my mind for the better.  As it stands, I’m not expecting much from this film, but I also have no idea who enjoyed Haywire enough to warrant another action film.

There are plenty of other female fighters out there that are more capable than Carano, so just seeing a girl that supposedly can fight isn’t going to do anything for me. In fact, she didn’t seem the fit the “badass female” character at all. To me, it looked like they were trying too hard to look cool, and failed pretty bad. If you don’t agree with me, feel totally free to sound off in the comments, cause I’m really curious how I’m on a different bandwagon than the public on this one.
