Tai Chi Hero Posters and Another Man with the Iron Fists Trailer

by kmiller

The news keeps coming in this week with some new posters for Tai Chi Hero. The first film in the trilogy will be shown in select theaters in the US, and it’s apparent that the sequel will be coming out as well.

I’ve heard mixed things about Tai Chi 0, and I’m still debating whether I’ll be heading to the theater to review it.

As I figured, there was a new character trailer for Man with the Iron Fists. This one focuses on Brass Body, but it really doesn’t show anything new.

Judging by this pattern, I’m guessing that we can expect the RZA’s trailer to come out later today or tomorrow. I’ll post it for you when it does come out.

New Posters for Man with the Iron Fists

by kmiller

There are a “few’ promotional posters for RZA’s film going around. A lot of them cater to the “classic” kung-fu feel that movie posters used to have. Check them out for yourself.

I’m still on the fence about this film, but I appreciate the dedication that RZA has as well. I’m hoping we get a more fleshed out trailer here soon, but this is a step in the right direction.

Man with the Iron Fists Official Trailer and Poster

by kmiller

On Sunday, I posted a leaked trailer for Man with the Iron Fists. Since then, that trailer has been pulled, but a new (and better looking) one has come out. Check out the IGN trailer for Man with the Iron Fists.

Most of you will know what I think about this film. If not, just read my little insight from Sunday, and you’ll be all caught up. Anyways, here is a  nice poster for those of you what want something new. There’s a cute little tagline, by the way.

I need more footage to see how much I like this movie. The reception has been pretty positive, but I’m just not that into it. Yeah, everybody knows what I think of the RZA, but it’s just the concept and how it’s executed. Here’s to hoping there is more to Man with the Iron Fists than naked women and flashy effects.

The Man with the Iron Fists Wraps Up

by kmiller

On May 22nd, the RZA tweeted that the Man with the Iron Fist was finally locked. For those of you that aren’t aware, this is a project that RZA has worked on in every aspect, including the writing and directing.

There are several supporting cast members, with some of them being Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu, Daniel Wu, Leung kar-yen, Cung Le, Gordon Liu, and Celina Jade.

I’m been pretty open about the fact that I’m not a fan of the RZA, but that doesn’t mean he can’t prove me wrong. I’m afraid that this movie will end up just being a fanfilm and not have any substance, but I will be more than happy to correct myself if he shows me something different.

Since filming has finally wrapped, maybe we’ll be able to see a trailer in the coming months to get a feel for the film and see what it’s really about.

Details on the Man with the Iron Fists

by kmiller

The RZA has been working on a project known as the Man with the Iron Fists. He wrote the script along with Eli Roth, who is serving as a producer of the film along with Quentin Tarentino. The RZA will be playing the lead role, but has a plethora of supporting members including Gordon Liu, Leung Kar-yen, Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu, Daniel Wu, Celina Jade, and Rick Yune (just to name a few.)

The choreography for the film will be done by Corey Yuen, while Marrese Crump and Ian Powers will be providing the doubling work in the film. It seems like the RZA has all the cards in his hand, but I can’t help but feel a little worried about the film. Of course, that’s probably more of a personal thing than anything else.

Those of you that have been around me know that I don’t like the RZA, but I’m also aware that there are fans of his work. I can’t say that I’m excited for the project, but I’m eager to see if I’m proven wrong. I have no problem with admitting being wrong if the trailer blows me away, and I haven’t seen any images or footage from the film. While having a strong cast and choreographer is a great start, it all depends on the vision of the team and where they go.

I’ll keep you guys posted on any new info I find.
